How to Find Your Ring Size (or Secretly Discover Your Partner's)

How to Find Your Ring Size (or Secretly Discover Your Partner's)

Planning a surprise proposal? Shopping for an anniversary ring? Or simply treating yourself to something sparkly? One of the most important details to get right is ring size - because the perfect ring deserves the perfect fit.

At The Diamond Club in Joondalup, we help customers find the right size every day.  Whether you're shopping together or planning a surprise, here's your guide to getting it just right.

How to Find Your Ring Size

1. Visit a Jeweller (Highly Recommended)

The most accurate method is visiting a professional jeweller (like us!) who can measure your ring size using industry tools. It's quick, easy, and free.

2.  Use a Ring Sizer at Home

We can provide a plastic or printable ring sizer you can use at home. Just wrap it around your finger and read the size where it overlaps.

3. Measure an Existing Ring

If you're already wear rings, bring one in or measure its inside diameter. Compare it to a ring size chart to find your perfect match.

Keep in mind: Your ring size may vary slightly between hands, and wider bands usually fit tighter than thinner ones.

How to Secretly Find Your Partner's Ring Size

Planning a surprise proposal? Here are some clever ways to get their size without spoiling the surprise:

1.  Borrow a Ring (Carefully!)

Find a ring they wear on their ring finger, and bring it to us to measure.  Just make sure they won't miss it for a day or two!

2. Trace It on Paper

If borrowing isn't an option, trace the inside and outside of the ring on a piece of paper.  We can work with that too.

3. Ask a Friend or Family Member

Their best friend, sibling, or mum might know - or can sneak the info for you!

4. Compare Hands

If you're shopping together, gently compare your fingers and estimate the size.  Not exact, but it can help us start the design process with a rough idea.

Tip for Getting It Right

  • Measure at the right time: Fingers swell throughout the day and in warmer weather.  Measure when hands are at a normal, relaxed temperature.
  • Snug but comfortable: The ring should slide on easily but resist slightly when coming off over the knuckle.
  • When in doubt, go slightly bigger: It's easier to resize down than up, especially for engagement rings.

What If the Ring Doesn't Fit?

No Stress! At The Diamond Club, we offer complimentary resizing for engagement rings purchased with us.  We'll make sure the ring fits perfectly - even if you guessed it wrong the first time.
